The "Good, Better, Best" Mindset: Never Settle for Average

The "good enough" mentality is fading, replaced by a powerful movement: ending average. In today's fast-paced world, what was once considered "good" might now be simply average, and here at ZrO Waste, average just isn't good enough.

At ZrO Waste, creating new technologies goes beyond just meeting compliance standards because we’re constantly striving to improve. Our products are built with forethought to meet more than just the bare requirements of "good,". For instance, our Watogy product has already been developed to eliminate PFAS from organic waste, ensuring our partners stay ahead of upcoming federal and state regulations. This commitment to exceeding regulations, combined with a well-rounded team, defined business model, and "best" mentality, ensures we never stop improving.

In striving for "better", we're conducting research to understand ways which we can address America's growing problem of waste. In recent years, the US has landfilled more household garbage (municipal solid waste) and recycled less. In 2015, the percentage of recycled MSW was 35%; in 2018, it was reported at 32%. While recycling is still crucial in addressing America's environmental concerns, developing new methods for addressing this growing issue is now apparent. Creating tomorrow's best can be challenging, but we openly share our experiences to change our perspective on environmental sustainability at our company. 

A crucial part of our continuous improvement lies in a shift in mindset. This is because our founder tells every employee a story from his early childhood. His education began in a one-room Minnesota schoolhouse without running water. It had outdoor restrooms, a wood-burning stove, and a genuine slate blackboard. Above the board read:

Good - Better - Best

Never let it rest until good is better and better is best.

While they had water hand pumps, well-maintained brick outhouses, and the classroom wood stove was in "good" condition for the 1900s, progress necessitated improvement. The reality is that good should strive to improve, and today's best can quickly become tomorrow's average, eventually fading into obsolescence.

While "best" should always be our aspiration, achieving the absolute pinnacle is rarely possible in the real world. However, at ZrO Waste, our pursuit for "better" keeps us moving forward, constantly improving and innovating our products and, one day, the world.
